\ SCOPE

I’ve always thought of this garden as a "Zen-Cactus Garden," due to the restrained use of plant materials and use of carefully positioned granite boulders.

The owner requested a very simple garden that was environmentally friendly. The front garden features specimen cacti and succulents, that once established will need almost no supplemental water. The Turfblock driveway is planted with Elfin Thyme groundcover and will not contribute to storm-water runoff like typical paved driveways. Water will percolate between the cell blocks and replenish the underground aquifer, which is one of the City of Santa Monica’s main concerns.

I plan on posting images of the backyard in a few months, so stay tuned.
